Why we gain weight

The fact of the matter is that those of us who eat less and lose less are living survival of the fittest. There was a time when humans and to hunt and scavenge to survive. Although, we have undergone a great deal of changes, when it comes to eating or not and gaining weight, we need to think back to the beginning. I found many years ago that if I ate only one average meal daily, I gained weight. As my metabolism slowed with age and hormones I held on to even more food. We who struggle for slim beauty are actually those who are holding on to every calorie in case of draught or famine. We are learning that this is in large part genetic and runs in families. We boomers are now hard against the hormone, and slowed metabolism wall. There is hope and in an eventual blog I will discuss it further. I have lost 65# and over 30 inches. I am eating healthier with far better nutritional substances than I have ever tried before. Most people estimate may age at at least 10 yrs younger than I am, some more than that. Wellness has everything to do with Energizing for Weightloss and then carrying through with a program. A slip, doesn't mean you have to tumble down the mountain. Boomers forever young

I was born at the very end of the Korean war. An idea of my age. I began to gain weight in my late 20's when my metabolism slowed down. I lost weight a few time, but never to my desired weight. Tired after a good night's sleep

There are many reasons that we may lack energy even after what seems to be a good night's sleep. However, there are many sleep disorders that do not support wellness or energy. OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) where the soft pallet and tongue swell from snoring or simply flop against back of throat when sleeping. This causes multiple gasps and short term unremembered awakening throughout night. This leaves one lacking energy, falling asleep on road or at desk. It is more common in those who snore and sleep on back. It is most common in those who require weight loss. In a nation where 65% of people are overweight it is a very common problem. It occurs to different degrees. Although there are treatments like CPAP (a breathing unit with a mask). Weightloss is often all that is needed to cure the problem. Take it up with your MD. Also, RLS (Restless leg syndrome) is jerking or tension in leg in evenings or early stages of sleep. We Boomers are begining to reach an age where we must now choose between Wellness, Energy and the lacke there of. Pay now or pay later.
